Privacy for tools and games

This policy describes how free tools and games work and explains the advertising used on selected pages.

Last updated: September 3, 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to free tool and game pages published on cogitans.fr. It supplements the general privacy policy.

2. How the tools work

Most calculations, conversions, draws, and generators run directly in your browser. In those cases, the content you enter is not sent to Cogitans.

The SEO audit tool is an exception. When you request an audit for a URL, that URL is sent to the any-origin.cogitans.fr proxy service to retrieve the requested public page. The result is returned to your browser for analysis. Requests to this service produce standard technical logs.

3. Functional local storage

Some tools and games use browser local storage to keep preferences, drafts, a selected format, scores, or progress. This data remains on your device and is not available to Cogitans.

You can delete it from your browser settings by clearing data for cogitans.fr. Deletion resets the saved preferences and results.

4. Advertising-funded pages

Google AdSense advertising is currently planned on both versions of the password generator: the French version and the English version. Another page becomes advertising-funded only when the AdSense code and consent mechanism are explicitly added to it.

Google and its advertising partners may process identifiers, the IP address, browser and device information, and ad interaction data to deliver, personalize, and measure advertising. The consent management platform presents the detailed purposes and partners.

5. Advertising choice

Advertising-funded pages use Google's certified consent management platform. It stores your choice in the browser and presents the options required by the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.

Advertising processing that requires your consent is conditional on that consent. You can reopen privacy settings from an advertising-funded page to change or withdraw your choice. Google then adapts ad serving to the permissions stored.

6. Recipients and transfers

Cogitans and its technical providers receive the data required to deliver and secure the service. On an advertising-funded page and after consent, Google and the partners listed by the consent platform may also receive data.

Some partners may process data outside the European Union under the safeguards described in their policies. See also the information published by Google.

7. Your rights and contact

Depending on the processing activity, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. To exercise a right or ask a question, email contact@cogitans.fr.

You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, CNIL.
